Football Party!
Friday night was Chan's last ever football banquet. It's a big deal for Senior moms because you get to decorate your own table, or half a table in our case. You can have a full table if you pay $25 per chair. Multiply that by 10 people plus money for decorations and it gets expensive! Little did we know the folks we were sharing a table with were no shows... Anyway, I have been looking forward to this for years. Little did I know when the time came that I would have a clingy 4 month old who could have cared less about my need to craft! However after working off and on for two days I managed to do a decent table display. Plus, I got to go on a date with Jon, Chan, and Hunter. Thanks so much to Erin and Vince for watching the other three kiddos while we "partied". Anyway- here are some pics of the table and a very few of us.

Homecoming Mums
This week me and my friend Erin made Chandler and Hunter mums for Homecoming. Those two stinky boys informed me they had dates for Homecoming 1 week before Camden was due to arrive. I informed them (with smoke coming out of my ears) that as soon as I got the baby here safely and had a day or two to recover that I would make mums. And, true to my word when Camden was 6 days old I took my hot post pregnant bod to Michael's with Erin and shopped for supplies. Of course I left Jon in charge of all the kids and he did splendidly even though the baby screamed for breast milk almost the entire time. It was nice to get out even though I was a bit scatterbrained and Erin had to pretty much shop for me. Making them was fun if not a little interesting, simply because we kept burning our fingers on the glue gun and I had to stop and breastfeed ALOT. Thank goodness I had Erin on diaper and rocking duty... she swore she didn't mind! On another note- I just want to say how absolutely grateful I am to Miss Erin. I have known her for about 4 years but it feels like a lifetime. She is an AMAZING friend and has been there for me so many times and I can never thank her enough. She arranged all of our dinners to be brought in for a solid week, brought me lunch, sat with Camden so I could shower, helped me make and deliver mums, and even ran over at a moment's notice to watch the baby so I could run all the way out to Jon's shop (what? we live on almost 2 acres....) She has been a lifesaver! Love you Erin. Anyway- I'll shut up now and show you the mums. I will hopefully get awesome pics of the boys and their dates up Saturday.
The silver and white mum is for Chan's date. Apparently all Seniors do a silver and white mum. The pics don't show the cute stuff we added (my camera stinks). But there is a whistle, a lipgloss, Sharpie marker, musical notes, Tootsie Rolls, and Dum Dum pops in addition to all the footballs (him) and tennis stuff (her). It was gonna have bubble wands too, but I forgot... Either way-I love it and I hope she does too!!

The blue and black is for Hunter's date. She's a freshman and he's in 8th! Hers has alot of the same stuff as the other one except his date is on the swim team and she has a rabbit's foot on hers. I am kinda bummed that I didn't get a chance to add bubble wands or a BMX bike like I had planned and I was gonna do lights but they would only last 8 hours. But, she loved it as much as I did so that's a good sign!

Friday Night Fun
We went to Chan's game tonight. He only got to play a little since he missed practice twice this week. Thank you poison ivy... The game was so-so, kinda boring. We played Burleson and won, score was awesome (50 to 21), game was sort of a dud. We pretty much watched a little and played around alot. Hayden and Chloe found a ladybug, Hunter texted, and I took pictures. It was chilly, yuck! I am not ready for cold weather. Give me Summer sun anyday. I do like winter clothes, roaring fires, and hot chocolate. But, I can't stand to be cold. I had on a poncho, a hoody, and a blanket and I am still cold, 2 hours later. Anyway, here are some pictures:

Girls Only!
Today Jon and the boys headed to Waco to watch OU play Baylor (Go Sooners! Final score: OU 49- Baylor 17, yay OU!), so me and Chloe had a girl's only day. I let her choose the activity if I could choose the restaurant. Well, she chose the mall. Wouldn't have been my first pick, but to her the mall is like, amazing or something. I found it to be hot and crowded. People tend to flock to the mall as if the end of the world is coming. Put it this way, I'll NEVER go the mall on a Saturday again! We ended up eating first at my favorite place, P F Chang's where we shared lettuce wraps and crab wontons. Chloe isn't 100% fond of Chinese and I am still on this diet thing, so we just shared the appetizers and each had one of those shot glass desserts. Chloe had chocolate cake and I had carrot cake, Yum-O! We then went to Bath and Body Works for air fresheners, hand soaps, and bubble bath, and to Claire's so Miss Chloe could get her ears pierced again. Yes, I gave in. She now has two holes in each ear, but is only allowed a teeny earring in the top hole until she's older. She is very proud of her earrings, such a little princess. We made a final stop at Target and played with all of the Halloween goodies and bought a few necessities like Diet Dr. Pepper, Halloween Oreos, and some crazy candy I couldn't resist. We had a fun day, but we are both glad it's time to settle down, we are exhausted!

Game Night!
Tonight was homecoming! Chan didn't ask anyone, so I didn't have to make a mum. Thank goodness! I have made one before and let me tell you, it was stress city! Lots of time involved, not to mention getting your finger stapled and burns from the hot glue gun. Anyway- enough mum talk. On to the game. I am still learning about football, even though my boys have played for many years, but I do know one thing: this game was AWESOME! We had to sit on the visitor's side even though we were the home team. I know, I know. It was Jon's fault. He had the cash and was supposed to go at lunch and buy them. But, he got busy at work and we had take what they had left. The action in the stands was almost as exciting as the game. There were two fights (between two women!) and a large group of obnoxious teenagers with bad attitudes and worse language. The man behind me got onto them with me piping (hollering) in with my two cents. The game was sooo good, and ended up going into overtime with a tie score of 28-28. We lost, but it was the best game we have seen in a long time. Seriously, I would probably watch more football games if they were always this good. I am just so proud of Chan. I can't believe my cute little boy is a man now.
Me and Chan. Dude, I freaking love this kid.

Momma's Boys
I am so proud of Chandler and Hayden.
First, Mr. Hayden got a 100 on his Spelling test!! Yay! I have promised him ice cream, and I am gonna have to pay up soon.
And, Chan-man had his first varsity game tonight. He started out JV, and they moved him to Varsity just this week. He didn't get much playing time tonight, but that will come in time. Just getting to see him suited up on a Friday night was awesome. The feel in the air was so infectious. The band playing. The cool September evening. And my favorite: the half time show! Friday nights are all about football here in Texas, and it didn't disappoint. I had forgotten how fun it was. I am excited to be able to spend Friday nights with my family watching my Chan-man. I can't believe how fast time has flown. I remember his first day of Kindergarten like it was yesterday, and now he is a Junior in high school!! Anyway, I'll stop reminiscing. They didn't win, probably because they didn't let Chan play enough... just kidding. Here are the few pictures I could get.

New look and stuff
So, I got me a shiny new header! Yay! Thanks Shauna. What do you think? You likey? Too bad I don't have a new body to match!
I am in a blogging funk, sorry. Not alot to say. I am frantically planning a baby shower, back to school, and all kinds of other fun stuff. I just haven't been anywhere to blog about. No pictures, still.... Working on that. I have had some interesting things happen, but I can't blog about them. Which is frustrating to say the least. I just might blog about it anyway, I am considering it.
I am super excited about the Olympics! I love gymnastics and synchronized swimming. I still daydream about being a gymnast. I can still do a cartwheel and a round-off, it just hurts now. Ahh, growing old is so fun.
The kids and I are fixing to head out and look for a kitten. I know, nutso huh?
Hunter has decided he will play football, which thrills Jon and I to no end. Hunter is a natural at football. So, it looks like we will be at games twice every week.
I guess this has been a Summer staple for me, doing lots of miscellaneous blogs. Too lazy I guess?
And, last but definitely not least: it will soon be one year since I started my blog. So, I am thinking up an AWESOME giveaway to celebrate!

Extra, Extra
Since I am new at blogging (and don't really know what I'm doing) and am only into football because my family is I am about to explain some things. I only root for the team they like because otherwise I would be clueless. Normally during Texas/OU weekend I would be shopping or something else instead. I have an if you can't beat em join em attitude about football. We have a bunch of friends who root for Texas and I knew it would be good blog material. I knew I could go shopping for new stuff for the kids. It game me an opportunity to take pics of my awesome friends and family to show off to my many adoring fans. Plus we had a ton of fun yesterday! So, enjoy the next 4 posts, they are all about the game and our Saturday. I had to do several posts to contain all of the photos, as I am only allowed 5 pics per post. If you are curious about each picture check the comments. I will provide a brief explanation of each photo that way.

Thursday Night Lights
Well the mighty Panthers did it again! Chandler's team is really doing great this year and now have 3 wins under their belts. We are so proud of him and his team. The last few seasons of football have not gone so well and they are really making up for lost time. Speaking of football games, what do you suppose they put in that nacho cheese that makes it so darn appealing? Why won't those teenage boys at his school pull up their pants? And I wonder what would happen if I ran up and down the bleachers as many times as Hayden and Chloe did tonight? Would I be able to lose my thunder thighs and pad-onk-a-donk butt? Maybe I should try it, although I would look rather silly. They would more than likely have the campus police officer yank me down and haul me away in handcuffs. Not exactly the example I want to show my children. Although the above referenced campus cop did get onto Hayden and Chloe. For climbing up the fence surrounding the field. AAhhh the joys of motherhood.

Can I Borrow Some Money?
Seriously though, it's getting expensive to have kids in school. And we're not talking college here. This is just elementary, intermediate, and high school. We are at the beginning of the 5th week of school and so far I have bought or donated the following:
1. a school spirit shirt for Hayden
2. treasure box items for Hayden's class
3. books at the book fair (for us and the classrooms)
4. a jar of apple butter
5. new lanyards (for school id's)
6. a yellow polo and a blue polo (color days at Hayden's school)
7. pencils and snacks for Chloe's class
8. a practice writing tablet for Hayden
9. school pictures for Hunter and Chloe
10. admission and snacks at 4 JV football games
The sad thing is this is just the tip of a VERY large iceberg. Since I have had kids in school, not a single week goes by that you don't buy at least one thing per kid.
I anticipate to spend money on the following things this year: School pictures, 4 yearbooks, fall pictures, at least 4 field trips, a homecoming mum, spring pictures, a group photo for Hayden, snacks (donated to class), t-shirts, spring book fair, more school supplies, project supplies, teacher gifts (for birthdays, a new baby, Christmas, and end of year gifts), fundraiser items, the Angel tree at school, disposable cameras, fall carnival, various donations for parties, and etc, etc.
And let's not forget all the birthday parties and special outfits that come up at a moments notice. I don't remember it being like this when we were younger. I know my parents tried to get as much as possible, but there is no way they could keep up with these demands. In reality all they need each day is a sack lunch, clean clothes, and school supplies. I could say no to all the other junk. But I won't. I'll just rearrange the grocery and bill money and make it work.
